Before You Start
The first thing to check is simple:
- Are you using MetaTrader 4?
- Or MetaTrader 5?
If you choose the wrong platform, your account will not connect. So double check this first.
Step 1: Get Your MetaTrader Login Details
Go to your broker or prop firm portal.
This is where you’ll find your MetaTrader account details. Different brokers may have slightly different steps, so just follow their process to locate your account information.
If you cannot find the details in the portal, check your email. Most brokers send login details when the account is created.
You will need these 4 things:
- Your Login ID (MetaTrader account number)
- Your Master Password (not the investor password)
- Your Server Name
- Whether the account is MT4 or MT5
Step 2: Open EdgeFlo and Click Connect MetaTrader
- Open the EdgeFlo app on desktop, web, or mobile.
- You will land on the dashboard.
- Navigate to Settings
- Select the Integration tab
- Click Connect MetaTrader
Step 3: Select Your Platform
Choose the correct platform:
- Select MetaTrader 4 if your account is MT4
- Select MetaTrader 5 if your account is MT5
Make sure this matches your actual account. If it does not match, the connection will fail.
Step 4: Enter Your Login Details
Now enter the following:
- Login ID (your MetaTrader account number)
- Master Password (not investor password)
- Server Name
Step 5: Click Connect
Once everything looks correct, click Connect or Create Account.
EdgeFlo will now validate your account and begin syncing your trade data. You may see a loading screen. That just means the system is connecting and importing your trades.
Step 6: Confirm Connection
Once connected, go to your Accounts screen.
You should see a green “Connected” label.
If you see that, you’re good to go 🎉
Your trades will sync automatically and you can start tracking everything inside EdgeFlo.
Troubleshooting
- Make sure you selected the correct platform (MT4 vs MT5)
- Use your master password, not investor password
- Double check server name spelling
- Remove any extra spaces
