Can I Set a Fixed Dollar Amount per Trade Instead of A Percentage?

Yes — Edgeflo supports both percentage-based and fixed dollar-amount risk per trade. If you prefer to risk a set dollar amount (e.g. $100 per trade) rather than a percentage of your account, you can switch between the two modes in the Risk per Trade settings.

How to switch to a fixed dollar amount

  1. Go to Trading in the left navigation.
  2. Find the Risk per Trade setting.
  3. Click the Unlock button to enable editing.
  4. Switch the mode from % to $.
  5. Enter your desired fixed amount (e.g. 100 for $100 per trade).
  6. Edgeflo will automatically calculate and adjust your lot size based on the dollar amount you set.

I can only see the percentage option

If you are unable to switch to the dollar mode and any value you type reverts back to a percentage, the Unlock button is the key step — the field is locked by default to prevent accidental changes. Make sure you tap or click Unlock first before attempting to change the mode or value.

If you have unlocked the field and are still unable to switch to dollar mode, please contact our support team and describe what you see on screen. Include a screenshot if possible so we can assist you directly.

How does fixed dollar risk affect lot sizing?

When you set a fixed dollar amount, Edgeflo uses your stop loss distance and the instrument's pip value to automatically calculate the correct lot size for each trade - so you don't need to work this out manually. The lot size will vary per trade depending on where your stop loss is placed, but your dollar risk exposure stays consistent.
