The Trading Journal in EdgeFlo automatically imports every trade you close, organises them on a monthly calendar, and gives you a structured space to reflect, tag, and review your performance over time.
The Trading Journal is the layer in EdgeFlo that turns raw execution data into self-awareness. Every trade you close is automatically imported the moment you exit the position. No copy-pasting, no manual entry for broker trades, no friction between execution and review.
Most traders know what they did. Few know why. The Journal exists to close that gap, one trade at a time.
Getting to the Journal
Select Journal from the left navigation bar. The Journal opens to the current month by default, showing a full calendar view with all your trading days laid out.
Journal Layout
The Journal consists of three parts: the calendar, day panel, and trade detail view.
Monthly Calendar
The calendar shows daily summaries with trade counts and net PnL—green for profit, red for loss, and blank for no trades. Use arrows to switch months. Click This month to return to the current month. The expand icon next to it opens the calendar full-screen for easier viewing.
The Day Panel
Click any day on the calendar to open the day panel on the right. It shows daily stats like net PnL, win rate, average R, trade count, wins/losses, plan adherence, guardrail violations, pre-market routine, and journaled trades vs. total.
Below the stats is the Trades list with instrument, time, direction, entry emotion, and PnL. A grey dash means the reflection isn’t filled; it disappears once journaling is complete.
Tap a trade to open its full detail view.
Filtering and Sorting the Trades List
Use the All, Wins, and Losses tabs to filter trades by outcome. Use the search icon in the Instrument column to filter by instrument. Click the PnL header to sort trades by result.
The Trade Detail View
Clicking a trade opens the detail view for journaling, split into two columns. The left shows read-only execution data from your broker: instrument, direction, lot size, session, duration, entry/exit price, stop loss, take profit, risk/return in R, fees, and swap.
The right column is your workspace to upload charts, tag confluences, document trade management, tag mistakes, log emotions, and write or record reflections.
The PnL Display Toggle
In the Journal header's top-right, toggles R, %, and $ control how PnL is shown. Choose the format that best suits your review. R-multiples help evaluate execution quality regardless of account size.
Adding a Day Note
Use the Add a note field in the day panel to record session-wide thoughts like market conditions or your mindset. This is separate from individual trade reflections.
Navigating Between Trades
Inside the trade detail view, use the Previous and Next Trade buttons in the top-right corner to move between trades without going back to the calendar. This lets you journal multiple trades back-to-back in a single flow.
Frequently Asked Questions
My trades aren't showing in the Journal. What should I check?
Make sure your broker account is connected in Settings and sync status is active. Only fully closed trades appear; open positions won’t show.
Can I delete a trade from the Journal?
Auto-imported trades can't be deleted as they reflect real closed positions. You can delete manual trades from the trade detail view.
Can I edit execution data on an imported trade?
No. Execution details like entry/exit price, stop loss, take profit, and PnL are locked on auto-imported trades. You can edit reflection and tagging fields.
Does the Journal support multiple accounts?
Yes. Trades from all connected accounts appear in the Journal. Each trade shows instrument and timing to help differentiate accounts.
What does the grey dot on a trade mean?
A grey dot means no reflection is completed. After adding reflection fields, notes, or voice recordings, the dot disappears and the trade counts toward your daily journal total.
