How to Save and Load Your TradingView Chart Layouts

Save your TradingView chart templates, indicators, drawings, and preferences in EdgeFlo so you can load them again later. This article covers how to save a layout, what gets saved, how auto-save works, and how to load your saved layouts.

You can save your TradingView chart layouts in EdgeFlo and load them again later. Your chart templates, indicators, drawings, and chart preferences are stored in your browser so you can switch between different setups without reconfiguring each time.

Every chart configuration you build is part of your trading process. Saving layouts means you spend less time setting up and more time analyzing.

What Gets Saved in a Chart Layout

When you save a chart layout, EdgeFlo stores the following:

  • Chart templates (candlestick, line, Heikin Ashi, etc.)
  • Indicators and their settings
  • Drawings (trendlines, support/resistance zones, annotations)
  • Chart preferences (timezone, scale settings, background color)
  • Timeframe selection
  • The instrument (currency pair)

How to Access Chart Settings

You can customize your chart appearance and behavior through the TradingView settings panel.

  1. Click the settings icon in the bottom-right corner of the chart (gear icon).
  2. Select More settings... from the menu.
  3. The Settings panel will open with four tabs: SymbolStatus lineScales and lines, and Canvas.

From here, you can adjust candle colors, timezone settings, chart background, grid lines, scale settings, and more. All changes you make are included when you save a chart layout.

Chart Settings

Here's what you can do in the TradingView Settings panel

  • Symbol & Status Line
    • Control what information displays on your chart, including the ticker symbol format, open market status, live price values, bar change data, and volume. You can also customize how indicators show their titles, parameters, and current values.
  • Price Scale & Labels
    • Adjust how the price axis behaves, including scale modes, price-to-bar ratio locking, and automatic scaling. Configure price labels to prevent overlapping, enable countdown timers to bar close, and customize how symbols and values appear on the chart.
  • Canvas Appearance
    • Customize the visual style of your chart including background color, grid line patterns (vertical and horizontal), session break indicators, pane separators, crosshair style, and watermark visibility. These settings control the overall look and feel of your trading workspace.
  • Scale Text & Lines
    • Set the color and font size for scale text labels, and configure the appearance of scale lines.

You can also apply default settings or save your custom configuration as a reusable template using the "Save as..." option at the bottom of the panel.

Auto-Save Behaviour

EdgeFlo automatically saves your current chart setup as you work. If you make changes to your chart (add indicators, draw trendlines, adjust settings), those changes are preserved when you close and reopen EdgeFlo. This is not saved as a named layout - it's your default workspace state.

You can also manually save named layouts so you can switch between different chart configurations quickly.

How to Save a Chart Layout

  1. Configure your chart with the indicators, drawings, and settings you want to save.
  2. Click the arrow icon in the top-right corner of the chart (next to the camera and fullscreen icons).
  3. Select Save layout from the dropdown menu.
  4. Enter a name for your layout.
  5. Click Save.

Your layout is now saved and will appear in the layouts list when you open the Open layout... menu.

Tip: Use descriptive names for your layouts like "Scalping Setup" or "Swing Analysis" so you can identify them quickly later.

How to Load a Saved Chart Layout

  1. Click the arrow icon in the top-right corner of the chart.
  2. Select Open layout... from the menu.
  3. Choose the layout you want to load from the list.

The chart will update immediately with your saved configuration.

Chart Settings Detection

EdgeFlo automatically detects your TradingView chart settings when you save a layout. This includes timezone adjustments based on your broker, so candle timing will match your trading account configuration.

If you notice candle timing differences after loading a layout, verify that your broker timezone is correctly configured in Settings > Trading Accounts.

Warning: If you delete a layout, it cannot be recovered. Make a copy before deleting if you think you might need it later.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I save multiple layouts?

Yes. You can save as many chart layouts as you need. There is no limit to the number of saved layouts.

Does the saved layout include the currency pair I was viewing?

Yes The layout saves your chart configuration (indicators, drawings, settings), and the instrument.

Why are my candle times different after loading a layout?

This can happen if your broker timezone setting has changed or if you are using a different trading account than when you saved the layout. Check Settings > Trading Accounts to verify your broker trading account and Check Settings > Account to verify your timezone on EdgeFlo.

Will my chart configuration be saved if I close EdgeFlo without saving a layout?

Yes. EdgeFlo automatically saves your current chart setup as you work, so your configuration will be preserved when you reopen the platform.
