Edge is EdgeFlo's Trade Plan Builder. It turns your trading strategy into a documented, structured plan that stays visible while you trade and tracks whether you actually follow it.
Edge is where you build, document, and follow your trading plan. It turns your strategy into a structured reference that sits next to your charts while you trade, and measures whether you actually execute the way you planned.
The goal of Edge is simple: eliminate impulsive decisions by giving you a clear plan before the market opens, and making plan adherence measurable over time.
What Edge does
Edge lets you document your complete trading strategy in one place. You define your charting process, entry criteria, trade management rules, and notes. Once you set a plan as Active, it appears across the platform wherever you need it: the Trading panel, your pre-market routine, the Trade Journal, and post-trade review.
Every trade taken while a plan is Active gets automatically tagged to that plan. Over time, Edge builds a performance record for each plan so you can make data-driven decisions about what is and is not working.
| Section | What it contains |
|---|---|
| Strategy basics | Plan name and setup type or strategy description |
| Charting process | Step-by-step checklist for preparing your chart before a trade |
| Entry models | Screenshots and descriptions of what valid entries look like |
| Entry criteria | Checklist of conditions that must be met before entering a trade |
| Exit criteria | Checklist of conditions that must be met before closing a trade |
| Risk controls | Your discipline settings, displayed read-only from your guardrails |
| Trade management rules | How you manage the trade after entry (set and forget, trailing, partials) |
| Trading notes | Free-form space for reminders, common mistakes, and strategy context |
| Plan stats | Auto-calculated performance and compliance metrics for this plan |
How to access Edge
Edge is accessible from the left navigation bar in EdgeFlo. Click the Edge icon to open the Trade Plan Builder. You will see two sections: My Plans (your custom plans) and Presets (ready-made plans from Brad, Jason, and Sanjeev).
My Plans vs presets
My Plans
My Plans is where your custom trade plans live. You can create as many plans as you want, but only one can be Active at a time. Plans you create are fully editable at any point.
Presets
Presets are ready-made trade plans from Brad Goh, Jason Hakeem, and Sanjeev Sangar — mentors from 1% Club and professional traders with over 20 years of combined experience. You can preview any preset to understand its structure, then duplicate it into your own editable plan if you want to adapt it to your style.
Note: Presets cannot be edited directly. To make changes, open the preset and use the Duplicate option. A copy will appear in your My Plans section.
The Active plan and why it matters
Setting a plan as Active connects it to the rest of your EdgeFlo workflow. An Active plan appears in four places:
- The Trading panel, where you can reference it during analysis and execution
- Your pre-market routine, as a daily reminder to review before the session
- The Trade Journal, as the default plan tagged to new trades
- The post-trade review, where you mark whether you followed the plan
Only one plan can be Active at a time. When you activate a new plan, the current Active plan is deactivated automatically. A confirmation modal appears before the switch takes effect.
Plan stats and compliance
Every plan has a Plan Stats section that tracks performance and compliance for trades tagged to that plan. Stats update automatically as you trade and review in the journal.
Note: 'Plan stats and compliance' is only available for users on Plus subscription and above
The four metrics tracked are:
- Trades taken: total trades tagged to this plan, both auto-tagged and manually tagged in the journal
- Win rate: winning trades divided by total tagged trades
- Net PnL: total profit or loss across all tagged trades
- Compliance: percentage of tagged trades where you marked "Followed trade plan?" as Yes
Tip: Compliance is only as useful as your honesty. Mark trades accurately in the journal, even when you did not follow the plan. That is the data that shows you where your discipline actually breaks down.
Edge is not a signal tool
Important: Edge does not give buy or sell signals, predict entries, or auto-trade. It is a documentation and accountability tool. The insight comes from you filling in the plan and reviewing your adherence over time.
Frequently asked questions
What is the difference between a preset and my own plan?
Presets are read-only example plans created by experienced traders. You can view them and use them as a reference, or duplicate them into your own editable plan. Plans in My Plans are fully yours to create and edit.
Can I have more than one Active plan at a time?
No. Only one plan can be Active at a time. Activating a new plan automatically deactivates the current one. A confirmation modal appears before the switch is made.
Will my old trades get tagged if I activate a plan after the fact?
Auto-tagging only applies to trades taken while a plan is Active. For trades taken before you activated the plan, you can manually tag them in the Trade Journal by selecting the plan from the trade detail view.
Does Edge work without a connected broker account?
Yes. You can build and edit trade plans without a connected account. However, plan stats and auto-tagging require trades to be imported from a connected broker account.
Where do I go to edit my risk controls in Edge?
Risk controls shown in Edge (max trades per day, max daily loss, max daily profit, risk per trade) are read-only in Edge. To change them, go to Settings and update your guardrail rules there.
