How to Edit, Duplicate, or Delete a plan in Edge

This article explains how to edit an existing trade plan, duplicate a plan or preset to create a new version, and manage plans you no longer use in Edge, EdgeFlo's Trade Plan Builder.

Your trade plans in Edge are not meant to be set once and never touched. As you gather data and refine your strategy, you will edit, duplicate, and retire plans. This article covers all three actions.

How to edit a trade plan

You can edit any plan in My Plans at any time, including plans that are currently Active.

Open Edge from the left navigation bar.
Find the plan you want to edit in the My Plans list.
Click the plan to open it.
Select Edit button from the top right of a plan.
Make your changes across any of the sections (strategy basics, charting process, entry criteria, trade management rules, or trading notes).
Click Save when finished.

Note: Editing a plan does not affect any historical plan stats or trade tagging. Stats are tied to the trades already tagged to the plan and update based on future journal entries, not the plan content itself.

Editing a plan that is currently Active

If the plan you want to edit is currently Active, you can still edit it. The Active status stays in place. Changes take effect immediately after saving. The next time you open the Trading panel, you will see the updated version.

How to duplicate a plan

Duplicating a plan creates a full copy with all sections carried over. The copy appears in My Plans with the original name plus "Copy" appended. You can rename it immediately after duplication.

This is useful when:

You want to test a variation of a strategy without changing your working plan
You want to use a preset as your starting point
You want to create a version of an existing plan tailored to a different instrument or session

Duplicating a plan from My Plans

Open Edge and find the plan in My Plans.
Click the plan to open it.
Click the Options menu (three dots).
Select Duplicate.
A copy appears in My Plans. Click the copy to rename it.

How to delete a trade plan

You can delete any plan in My Plans section, excluding the currently Active one.

Open Edge and find the plan in My Plans.
Click the Options menu (three dots).
Select Delete.
From the confirmation popup, select Delete Plan.

Frequently asked questions

Can I edit a preset plan directly?

No. Presets are read-only. Duplicate any preset into My Plans and you can edit the copy freely.

If I edit my Active plan, does it affect trades already tagged to it?

No. Editing a plan only changes the content going forward. Historical trade tagging and plan stats are not affected by edits to the plan structure or content.

Can I rename a plan after I have created it?

Yes. Open the plan, go into edit mode, and update the name in the Strategy Basics section.

What happens to plan stats when I duplicate a plan?

The duplicate starts with zero stats. Stats build up separately as you tag trades to the new plan in your journal.
