If EdgeFlo shows the MetaTrader account as Connected (Read-only), or the trade button is greyed out, the account was connected using an investor password instead of a master password.
What could be happening
- Investor password used instead of master password. Investor passwords give read-only access and do not allow trading or full data sync.
The difference between the two passwords
- Master password: Full access. Required to connect EdgeFlo for trading.
- Investor password: Read-only access. Used to share an account with others for viewing only. EdgeFlo cannot trade with this password.
How to fix it
- Go to your connected accounts in EdgeFlo.
- Disconnect the current account.
- Reconnect using the master password.
If you are unsure which password is which, log in to your broker's platform and check your account settings. Brokers typically label these as Main password and Investor password, or similar.
If the master password is not available, it will need to be reset directly through your broker. EdgeFlo cannot retrieve or reset broker passwords.
