If you see a Connection Error that says something like: .dat file for server [server name] not found, please check the server name or use a provisioning profile instead.
This means the server name you entered is not recognised in our system. This usually happens when you enter the broker name (e.g. Exness, IFXBroker-Real) instead of the actual MetaTrader server name.
What’s the difference?
Your broker (e.g. Exness) operates multiple MetaTrader servers, each with a specific technical name such as:
ExnessBV-MT5Real10ExnessBV-MT5Real11ExnessBV-MT5Real12IFXBrokers-Real
You must enter the exact server name — not just the broker brand name — when connecting your account.
How to fix it
- Open your MetaTrader 5 app and log in to your account.
- Go to Tools > Options > Server (desktop) or check your account details in the app to find your server name.
- Alternatively, contact your broker’s support team and ask them: “What is my MT5 server name?”
- Return to Edgeflo and re-enter the correct server name when connecting your account.
