Alert message:

- Daily loss limit reached. Trading locked until tomorrow.
- Max loss is reached!
🔴 Max loss hit. Stop trading for today.
This message appears when your total realised losses for the day have reached or exceeded the Max Daily Loss limit you configured in Trading Preferences.
What triggered this?
Your total realised losses today have hit the dollar amount you set as your Max Daily Loss.
Example:
Max daily loss set at $300.
You lose $180 on trade 1 and $140 on trade 2.
Total equals $320. Guardrail activates.
The trade button becomes grayed out. You cannot place new trades unless you consciously choose to override.
What counts toward the daily loss?
- Closed losing trades
- Net realised loss for the current trading day
Floating loss does not trigger the guardrail until the trade is closed.
Why this guardrail exists
A single emotional session can undo weeks of disciplined execution.
Most accounts are not destroyed by one trade. They are destroyed by continuing to trade after a loss limit has already been hit.
This rule exists to stop escalation.
Can I override it?
Yes, if overrides are enabled in your settings.
However:
- Each trade taken after breaching the limit is logged
- Each additional trade reduces your Discipline component in EdgeScore
- Repeated overrides often indicate emotional trading
If you override, make sure the decision is structured and rules-based.
Does this affect EdgeScore?
Yes.
Each trade taken after hitting your daily loss limit reduces your Discipline score.
When does it reset?
Your Max Daily Loss resets automatically at the start of your next trading day.
You do not need to manually reset anything.
What should I do now?
- Stop trading for the day
- Close your charts
- Log the session in your journal
- Review whether losses were process-based or emotional
- Return tomorrow with clarity
