This message appears when you attempt to place a trade outside the time window you configured in Guardrails.
What triggered this?
Your current local time falls outside the trading window you defined in your settings.
Example:
Trading window set to 08:00 to 17:00.
You attempt to place a trade at 17:45.
Guardrails activates.
The trade button becomes grayed out for the duration of the inactive period.
Why this guardrail exists
Most traders perform best during specific sessions and consistently underperform during others.
Common issues outside optimal trading hours include:
- Low liquidity and wider spreads
- Fatigue and reduced focus
- Late-session impulse trades
- Chasing moves that have already played out
This rule keeps your execution aligned with your strongest trading hours.
What should I check?
- Your configured timezone in Settings → Account
If your timezone is incorrect, your window may appear misaligned.
When does trading unlock?
Trading automatically unlocks when your configured trading window becomes active again.
You do not need to manually reset anything.
Can I override it?
Depending on your settings, overrides may be allowed.
If you override:
- The action is logged in your journal
- Repeated off-window trading may impact your Discipline score
Overrides should be reserved for structured reasons, not convenience.
