Alert message:
- "Daily target hit. Lock it in and stop trading."
🟢 Daily target hit. Lock it in and stop trading.
This message appears when your total realised profit for the day has reached or exceeded the Max Daily Profit target you configured in Guardrails.
What triggered this?
Your net realised profit today has hit the dollar amount you set as your daily profit cap.
Example:
Daily profit target set at $500.
You win three trades and your P&L reaches $510.
Guardrail activates.
The trade button becomes grayed out. You cannot place new trades unless you consciously choose to override.
What counts toward the profit target?
- Closed profitable trades
- Net realised profit for the current trading day
Floating profit does not trigger the guardrail until the trade is closed.
Why this guardrail exists
Hitting your daily target is a successful session.
Continuing to trade after reaching it often leads to giving profits back. Overconfidence after wins is one of the most common discipline leaks.
This rule protects positive momentum and helps build consistency.
Can I override it?
Yes, if overrides are enabled in your settings.
However:
- Losing trades taken after hitting your target reduce your Discipline score
- Winning trades are not penalised
- All overrides are logged in your journal
If you choose to override, make sure it aligns with your plan and not emotion.
When does it reset?
Your Max Daily Profit target resets automatically at the start of your next trading day.
No manual reset is required.
What should I do now?
- Stop trading for the day
- Close your charts
- Log what worked in your journal
- Review whether you followed your plan
- End the session on a disciplined note
