This message appears when the number of trades you have taken today has reached or exceeded the Max Trades Per Day limit you configured in Guardrails.

What triggered this?

You have reached the maximum number of trades you allowed yourself for the current trading day.

Example:
Max trades per day set at 3.
You take trade 1, trade 2, and trade 3.
When attempting trade 4, Guardrails activates.

The trade button becomes grayed out. You cannot place new trades unless you consciously choose to override.

What counts as a trade?

Each new position opened
Auto-split child orders count as one parent trade

Partial closes do not count as new trades.

Why this guardrail exists

Overtrading is one of the most common discipline leaks.

More trades does not usually mean more profit. It often means:

Lower quality setups
Emotional decision-making
Fatigue-based entries

This rule forces selectivity and protects your edge.

Can I override it?

Yes, if overrides are enabled in your settings.

However:

Losing trades taken after exceeding the limit reduce your Discipline score
Winning trades are not penalised
All overrides are logged in your journal

If you choose to override, make sure the setup is truly aligned with your trading plan.

When does it reset?

Your trade count resets automatically at the start of your next trading day.

No manual reset is required.

What should I do now?

Step away from the screen
Review the trades you have taken today
Assess whether each trade followed your plan
Identify patterns in timing or execution
End the session if appropriate
