[TradeLocker] How to open a GatesFX account and connect to EdgeFlo

This guide walks you through creating a GatesFX account, opening a demo trading account on TradeLocker, and connecting it to EdgeFlo so your trades sync automatically.

GatesFX is one of the brokers available on TradeLocker Hub. It accepts traders from most countries including the United States and offers a free demo account across multiple account types. Unlike most brokers, GatesFX does not ask you to set a password at registration. Your trading account password is auto-generated when you create your first account.

Warning: GatesFX only accepts cryptocurrency for both deposits and withdrawals. If you plan to fund a live account, you will need a cryptocurrency wallet.

Step 1: Create your GatesFX account

Go to gatesfx.com and fill in the registration form.

Fill in the following fields:

First name and Last name
Country: select from the dropdown
Phone: select your country code and enter your number
Email: use the email address you want linked to your trading account
CAPTCHA: complete the CAPTCHA verification

Check both the terms and conditions and the IB Agreement boxes, then click Register.

Note: There is no password field on the registration form. Your trading account password is auto-generated when you create your first trading account and will be shown on the confirmation screen.

Step 2: Verify your email with the PIN code

After registering, GatesFX sends an email containing a PIN code, not a verification link. Open the email, copy the PIN, and enter it on the verification page that appears after registration.

Warning: GatesFX uses a PIN code for email verification, not a clickable link. You must enter the code on the verification screen. Do not close this page before entering your PIN.

Tip: Check your spam folder if the PIN email doesn't arrive within a minute. If the code expires, look for an option to request a new one from the verification screen.

Step 3: Open a demo account

After logging in, you land on your dashboard. Click + Open Demo Account at the top of the page. The demo account creation is a 3-step wizard.

Step 3a: Select account category

Choose TradeLocker - Demo as the account category and click Next.

Step 3b: Configure your account

Select your preferred account settings:

Account type	Description
Raw ECN 1:1000	Raw spread with up to 1:1000 leverage
Raw ECN 1:500	Raw spread with up to 1:500 leverage
Standard STP 1:500	Standard spread with up to 1:500 leverage

After selecting an account type, choose your Currency (e.g. USD) and enter your Initial balance (e.g. 100,000). Click Next.

Step 3c: Save your credentials

The confirmation screen displays your new account details. Note these down before navigating away. This is the only time the auto-generated password is shown on screen.

Warning: Save your password from the confirmation screen before clicking away. The auto-generated password is also emailed to you. Check your inbox if you miss it on screen.

Note: Your login for EdgeFlo is the email address you registered with GatesFX. Do not use the numeric account ID shown on the confirmation screen as your login. That is your trading platform ID, not your TradeLocker login.

Step 4: Connect your GatesFX account to EdgeFlo

Open EdgeFlo and go to Settings, then the Integrations tab. Click Connect existing account, search for GatesFX, and select TradeLocker as the connection platform. Enter your credentials when prompted:

Login: the email address you registered with GatesFX
Password: the auto-generated password shown on your GatesFX dashboard and also emailed to you
Server: shown on your GatesFX dashboard, will be GATESFX

Once connected, EdgeFlo will begin syncing your trades. For a demo account, your trading history and journal will start populating as soon as you place your first trade in TradeLocker.

Tip: Connecting your demo account first is a good way to confirm the integration is working before you fund a live account.

Step 5: Complete KYC to unlock live trading (optional for demo)

You do not need to complete KYC to use a demo account. A "not verified" banner may appear on your profile but this does not affect demo trading. To deposit real funds and open a live account, you must complete identity verification from your GatesFX profile settings.

Warning: You cannot deposit real funds or open a live TradeLocker account until your KYC is approved.
