[TradeLocker] How to open an Eightcap account and connect to EdgeFlo

This guide walks you through creating an EightCap account, opening a demo trading account on TradeLocker, and connecting it to EdgeFlo so your trades sync automatically.

EightCap is one of the brokers available on TradeLocker Hub. It accepts traders from most countries and offers a free demo account. Registration takes a few minutes and your account is provisionally approved almost immediately, so you can start with a demo account while full verification is processed.

Note: EightCap requires identity verification to trade live. You can connect a demo account to EdgeFlo straight away without waiting for full KYC approval.

Step 1: Create your EightCap account

Go to eightcap.com and begin the registration. The signup process has four steps.

Step 1 of 4: Personal details

Select Individual as your application type. Fill in your title, first name, last name, date of birth, and address details.

Step 2 of 4: Account setup

Choose your trading platform and account preferences. Select TradeLocker as the platform. Then set your account type, currency, and leverage. We recommend:

Platform: TradeLocker
Account type: Standard
Currency: USD
Leverage: 50:1 or your preferred ratio

Step 3 of 4: Client suitability

Answer the two questions about your trading experience and risk understanding. Both questions require a Yes response to continue.

Step 4 of 4: Declaration

Read and accept the three legal documents: the Risk Disclosure Policy, Client Agreement, and the derivatives trading confirmation. Tick all three checkboxes and click Complete Application.

Step 2: Upload your identity document

After completing the application, EightCap asks you to upload a proof of identity. Click Proof of Identity, select your document type (ID card or passport), and upload a clear photo or scan. Click Submit docs when done.

Your application will be reviewed. EightCap typically processes applications in under 24 hours. You will see a confirmation screen once submitted.

Tip: EightCap may conditionally approve your account before full verification is complete. You can create a demo account and connect it to EdgeFlo straight away.

Step 3: Open a TradeLocker demo account

Once logged in to the EightCap dashboard, click the Demo tab, then click New Account.

A form appears below. Fill it in with the following settings:

Platform: TradeLocker
Live or Demo: Demo
Currency: USD
Balance: 25,000 (or your preferred starting amount)
Leverage: 50:1
Account type: Standard

Click Request New Account. You will see a "New trading account was created successfully" confirmation at the top of the page.

Step 4: Find your TradeLocker credentials

Check your inbox. EightCap sends an email with the subject "Welcome to Eightcap! Here's your TradeLocker credentials." as soon as your account is ready. You need three things to connect to EdgeFlo:

Login: your email address (labelled "Username" in the email)
Password: provided in the credentials email
Server: 8CAP

Warning: Your EightCap dashboard shows a numerical "TradeLocker Login" ID on your account card. Do not use this. Your login for EdgeFlo is always your email address, not a numeric ID. Using the account number instead of your email will cause the connection to fail.

Step 5: Connect your EightCap account to EdgeFlo

Open EdgeFlo and go to Settings, then the Integrations tab. Click Connect existing account, search for EightCap, and select TradeLocker as the connection platform. Enter your credentials when prompted:

Login: the email address you registered with EightCap
Password: from your TradeLocker credentials email
Server: enter 8CAP

Click Create Account. Once connected, EdgeFlo will begin syncing your trades. Your journal will start populating as soon as you place your first trade in TradeLocker.

Tip: Connecting a demo account first is a good way to confirm the integration is working before you fund a live account.

Can I use EightCap if I am based in the United States?

EightCap availability varies by region. Check the EightCap website for the most current list of supported countries.

What do I use as my login when connecting to EdgeFlo?

Your login is the email address you registered with EightCap. Look for the credentials email with the subject "Welcome to Eightcap! Here's your TradeLocker credentials." Your email is listed as "Username" in that email. Do not use the numeric TradeLocker Login ID shown on your EightCap dashboard.

Why does my EightCap dashboard show a numeric TradeLocker Login?

That number is your internal EightCap trading account ID, not your TradeLocker login credential. EightCap itself notes this in the credentials email: your username is your email address, and a separate account number will appear in the TradeLocker interface. Always use your email to connect in EdgeFlo.

Can I connect my demo account to EdgeFlo before my KYC is approved?

Yes. EdgeFlo works with both demo and live accounts. You can connect your demo account as soon as it is created, without waiting for full KYC approval.
