How to Create demo account and connect

Create a free demo account and connect it to EdgeFlo. If you are based in the United States, use TradeLocker. If you are outside the US, use cTrader or TradeLocker. This article covers both paths.

Before you connect, pick the right platform for your location. This matters because cTrader is not available to US retail traders — that restriction is set by Spotware, cTrader's developer, and applies regardless of which broker you use.

Where are you based?	Platform to use

Outside the United States	cTrader or TradeLocker. Both connect directly to EdgeFlo with real-time sync.

Note: Not sure which platform to pick? cTrader is the fastest way to get a demo account - no broker application needed, just an email address. TradeLocker requires signing up with a broker first, but all supported brokers offer free demo accounts.

Option A: cTrader (outside the US only)

cTrader is the fastest way to get a demo account - you only need an email address and the whole process takes about two minutes. No broker application, no credit card, no waiting.

Step 1: Open the Integrations page

Go to Settings and select the Integrations tab. Select Create a cTrader demo account. This opens a guided popup with a button that takes you to cTrader.

Note: If you already have an existing cTrader broker account, use Connect existing account instead. This path is for brand new demo accounts only.

Step 2: Create your cTrader ID

You will be taken to app.ctrader.com. Click Log in, then Register. Sign up with Google or enter your email and create a password. Click Create cTrader ID.

Tip: Your demo account is created automatically once your cTrader ID is set up. You do not need to find a separate button to create it.

Step 3: Connect to EdgeFlo

Return to EdgeFlo and click Connect cTrader. EdgeFlo will detect your new demo account and connect it automatically.

Warning: If you switch back to EdgeFlo too quickly, your demo account may still be setting up on cTrader's side. Wait about 30 seconds before clicking Connect.

Option B: TradeLocker (recommended for US traders)

TradeLocker connects directly to EdgeFlo with real-time trade sync. To get started, pick a broker from the table below, create a free demo account on their website, and connect it in EdgeFlo.

Step 2: Connect in EdgeFlo

Once your broker account and demo account are set up, open EdgeFlo and go to Settings, then Integrations. Search for your broker, select TradeLocker, and enter your three credentials: your email address, your TradeLocker password, and your server name.

Warning: Your login is always your email address — never a numeric account ID. See Where to find your TradeLocker credentials if you are unsure where to get these.

FAQ

Why can't I use cTrader if I am in the United States?

cTrader is blocked for US retail traders by Spotware, the platform's developer. This applies across every broker that uses cTrader — it is not an EdgeFlo decision. US traders should use TradeLocker instead.

Do I need to fund the demo account?

No. Demo accounts come with virtual funds automatically. You never need to deposit real money to use a demo account with EdgeFlo.

Can I switch from demo to live later?

Yes. Go to Settings, then Integrations and connect your live account.

Why can't EdgeFlo find my cTrader demo account?

This usually happens if you return to EdgeFlo before the demo account finishes setting up. Wait about 30 seconds after creating your cTrader ID, then try Connect cTrader again.

How many accounts can I connect to EdgeFlo?

Each EdgeFlo seat supports one connected trading account at a time. You can disconnect and reconnect a different account from the Integrations page at any point.
