Trades Not Syncing / Missing Data

If trades are missing from EdgeFlo or your journal data looks incomplete, this article walks through the most common causes and how to fix them.

Missing trades or stale data usually trace back to a sync interruption, a credential issue, or a historical import that has not finished yet. Work through the steps below in order.

Step 1: Check Sync Status

Click the sync pill in the Trading platform to open the App Synchronization panel. Check whether Historical Sync and Live Sync both show OK. If either shows an error or is still in progress, that is the cause.

Sync status indicators

The sync status appears in the left bar of the EdgeFlo interface. Click it at any time to open the App Synchronization panel, which shows the status of both Historical Sync and Live Sync separately.

Status  What it means?  What to do?
Live Both Historical Sync and Live Sync are running normally. All data is current. Nothing. You are good to trade.
Syncing Historical Sync is in progress. Live updates are already working, but past trade history may be incomplete until the import finishes.

Wait for it to complete. Live data and guardrails are active.

Historical data will fill in automatically.

Delayed

Historical Sync is complete, but Live Sync is paused.

Today's trades and PnL may not update until the connection is restored.

Wait a few minutes for the connection to restore automatically. If the issue persists after 10 minutes, go to Settings > Integrations, remove your broker account, and connect it again.
Disconnected

Both Historical and Live Sync have failed.

Trade data is unavailable and trades cannot be placed through EdgeFlo.

Go to Settings > Integrations, remove your broker account, and connect it again.

Your account and any trades placed directly through your broker are not affected.

Step 2: Remove and Reconnect Your Broker Account

If sync shows Delayed or Disconnected, you will need to remove your broker account and connect it again.

  1. Go to Settings > Integrations.
  2. Find your connected account and click Remove account.
  3. Click Connect broker account to start the connection flow again.
  4. For MetaTrader, enter your login ID, master password, and server name, then click Connect.
  5. For cTrader, you will be redirected to authorize the connection again.
  6. Wait 1 to 2 minutes for the historical sync to run after connecting.

Warning: Removing your broker account does not delete your trade history or journal entries in EdgeFlo. Your data is preserved.

Step 3: Check Your Credentials

If the connection fails when you try to reconnect, your broker credentials may have changed. Common causes:

  • Prop firm account reset or challenge passed (new login ID issued)
  • Broker password changed
  • Server name changed after a broker migration

Log in to your broker portal or prop firm dashboard to confirm the current login ID, password, and server name. Then connect again with the updated details.

You can find a list of common connection errors explained here: Broker connection issues

Step 4: Contact Support

If trades are still missing after reconnecting, contact EdgeFlo Support and include:

  • Your broker platform (MT4, MT5, or cTrader)
  • The date range of the missing trades
  • A screenshot of the App Synchronization panel showing the current status

Frequently Asked Questions

A trade closed at my broker but is not in my EdgeFlo journal. Why?

If sync was delayed or disconnected when the trade closed, it may not have been captured in real time. Remove your broker account from Settings > Integrations and connect it again to trigger a fresh historical sync. The trade should appear within a few minutes. If it does not, contact support.

My positions table shows trades I closed days ago as still open. How do I fix this?

This is a stale data issue caused by a sync interruption. Remove your broker account from Settings > Integrations and connect it again. The positions table should update within a minute of sync resuming.
