If EdgeFlo is running slowly, lagging, or freezing, this article covers the most common causes and how to improve performance.
EdgeFlo is a desktop-optimised web application. Performance issues are most often caused by browser resource constraints, network conditions, conflicting extensions, or delays from your connected broker platform.
Quick Fixes to Try First
- Close unused tabs. The TradingView chart is resource-intensive. Running many tabs alongside EdgeFlo reduces available memory.
- Hard-refresh the page. Press Ctrl + Shift + R (Windows) or Cmd + Shift + R (Mac) to clear the cached session and reload fresh.
- Restart your browser. Browsers accumulate memory over long sessions. A clean restart often resolves persistent lag.
- Disable browser extensions. Try EdgeFlo in a private window with extensions off to rule out extension conflicts.
Browser and System Requirements
EdgeFlo works best on the latest version of Chrome or Edge on a desktop or laptop. Performance on older hardware or heavily loaded systems will be reduced. Ensure your browser is up to date.
Network-Related Lag
Slow sync updates and delayed chart data are usually network issues, not application issues. Test your connection speed. If you are on a VPN, try disabling it. Connections below 5 Mbps can cause noticeable lag in chart data loading.
Broker or Platform Performance Issues
EdgeFlo depends on your connected MetaTrader or cTrader broker platform for live trade sync, chart data, and position updates. If your broker's infrastructure is slow or experiencing delays, this will affect EdgeFlo's performance as well.
Signs that the issue is broker-side:
- Chart prices update slowly or freeze, but the rest of the EdgeFlo interface works normally.
- Your sync status shows Delayed or takes longer than usual to update.
- Your MetaTrader or cTrader platform is also running slowly when you open it directly.
If the issue is broker-side, EdgeFlo cannot fix it. Wait for your broker's infrastructure to stabilize. If the problem persists for more than a few hours, contact your broker to report the issue.
MetaTrader chart performance
MetaTrader charts can load more slowly, especially when switching between timeframes. This is a known limitation of the MetaTrader connection. If you're experiencing slow chart responsiveness, try the steps below.
- Hard-refresh the page by pressing Ctrl + Shift + R (Windows) or Cmd + Shift + R (Mac).
- Close any other browser tabs or applications using significant system memory.
- If slowness persists, consider connecting via cTrader instead. cTrader generally provides more reliable and responsive chart performance inside EdgeFlo.
If Performance Remains Poor
Report the issue via Settings > Support > Report a Bug. Include:
- Which part of EdgeFlo is slow (chart, journal, dashboard, etc.)
- Your browser and version
- Whether the issue is constant or only at specific times
- Whether enabling diagnostics in the bug report is permitted (it sends error logs automatically)
